Yosi Horikawa

The sounds enveloping the event are a restructuring of Yosi’s work to date, recreated with a keen awareness of Any Tokyo’s atmosphere, both in venue and in subject matter. His style brings together as many variations on the sounds of the world as one can think of, from those recorded deep in the forest to those familiar in everyday life, but utilizes musical tone as little as possible, with the expectation of causing the listener to relive her own memories. Familiar sounds are somehow tied to memory, and when the sounds recorded are those evocative of memory, each of the listeners’ own stories also become linked.
