The theme of the design start-up Fashion Entertainments is ‘creating new ways to enjoy digitized fashion’. Its inaugural product, “FES WATCH” was designed in collaboration with TAKT PROJECT.
The design was created based on the idea of creating not only something of a fresh canvas, a neutral watch platform able to match well with a variety of displayed patterns—but also have real functionality as a watch. As such, it was given a design that accentuates that traditional form.
While the silhouette recalls the watch as we know it, the array of patterns that seamlessly fade in and away from its face provide the wearer with an unusual experience unlike any before. The experience is not merely one of seeing a two-dimensional progression of patterns, but witnessing the watch as we know it -- a hard, fixed object -- seem to change form, character or presence ethereally before our eyes.
