The blue of sky, the red of sunset.
I want to create these colors of sky.
Neither paint nor altered light source.
It is color as created by “natural phenomena”.
Why is the sky blue? Why is the sunset red?
To create the emotion evoked by the sky,
I learn from the truth and order from which the color of the sky appears.
Sunlight is scattered by particles in the atmosphere.
This scattering, called Rayleigh Scattering, is more pronounced at short wavelengths.
At sunset, the light path increases in the atmosphere. So, even more of the blue light is scattered, allowing the reds and yellows to pass straight through to your eyes.
Rayleigh Scattering, normally a result of the relationship of sunlight to the atmosphere, is generated here by using a white LED, purified water and a small amount of acrylic emulsion as the particle.
Blue comes from Rayleigh Scattering. Red comes from Diffuse Radiation.
This light brings about in us a kind of peacefulness-- like a clear sky.
