Mattiazzi

Mattiazzi’s environment of wood, expressed here in the work of four designers.
The Medici Chair (Konstantin Grcic) expresses engineering elegance and the natural beauty of thermo-treated ash. Able to withstand an outdoor environment, the chair can be used as a solitary piece of furniture, or lined up in small groups, for use as lounge chairs in the garden or on the patio.
Osso Chair (Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec) A compact form devoid of excess that unexpectedly calls for touch. Highlighting the functionality of wood, this chair is fully-realized in both strength and design characteristics, through the use of state-of-the art technology in the assembly and finishing.
Branca Chair (Sam Hecht/ Industrial Facility) A chair inspired by the twists, turns and branchings off naturally occurring in trees. The seat and backrest are carved from a single piece of wood and the joints are simultaneously visible and seamless, like those found in nature. Hidden behind its simple form lies a complicated manufacturing process.
She Said Chair (Studio Nitzan Cohen) The concept behind this chair of solid wood was an effort to represent the eternally contradictory forces that attract men and women to each other. The characteristics and warmth of solid wood are evocative of an intimate encounter.
