The 1956 French film Le Ballon Rouge inspired the creation of Balloon Chair. The bench and chair seem to float, suspended from balloons. This astonishing sight, like something out of a fairy tale, playfully liberates us from our staid modes of thought. Made of fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP), the balloons will never deflate or pop. To sit in on this bench or chair is a pleasing experience, certain to lift our spirits should we feel a bit down.
Designer
Began beaming multidisciplinary designs including lighting and home furnishings into the world on April 30, 2010. Rather than interpreting designs as simply a manipulation of form, presents works that sense subtext, and are borne from the message within—to awards and high praise from foreign media. These works are inspired by the countless difficult problems modern society has, and embedded in their creation is the hope of providing the opportunity to rethink these difficult issues and take action.
