Today, the ever present the humanitarian challenges of racism and indiscriminate acts of terror coupled with the ability to create life artificially are seemingly altering the meaning of life. This transformation necessitates a re-think of what ’life’ is.
"The Birth" is a chandelier inspired by the faint light said to emit from the ovum at the moment of fertilization. By sensing one of life’s mysteries up close, we hope this encourages even one more person to reflect again on its preciousness.

Since its establishment in 2010 the brand h220430 has designed a wide range of products, including lighting and home furnishings. Rather than interpreting designs as simply a manipulation of form, presents works that sense subtext, and are borne from the message within—to awards and high praise from foreign media. These works are inspired by the countless difficult problems modern society has, and embedded in their creation is the hope of triggering discourse on complex issues and take action.
